If there’s a week to cycle more than any other week, it’s during Go by Bike Week — when there are plenty of perks for people who cycle!
Go by Bike Week this spring falls on May 31 – June 6. During this week, you can:
- get free bike maintenance at celebration stations
- join group rides to meet fellow cyclists and learn new routes,
- and attend webinars for free.
Isn’t cycling on Go by Bike Week so rewarding? It doesn’t stop there. Metro Vancouver residents who log their trips between May 31 and June 6 can enter for a chance to win prizes, including a cycling adventure to Vietnam. Other prizes include gift cards and cycling gear, which are a real treat.
Whether you’re just looking for ideas to enjoy the week with your cycling crew or want to up your chances of winning a prize, use these cycling adventures as inspiration to make the most of Go by Bike Week.
Adventure #1: Bike to work
If you don’t already bike to work, why not trial it this Go by Bike Week? See how it goes! You might find that it’s faster than your typical commute, or that it’s more convenient to make side quests (run errands) along the way.
At the end of your trial, you might find that you can add cycling to work in your routine at least once per week.

Free classes for a week at Orangetheory fitness
Want to make it an action-packed week? Get a workout in with your bike ride and a free high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class. The classes are at these participating Orangetheory locations: West Broadway, Cambie, Davie, North Burnaby, Metrotown, North Vancouver, Port Moody, South Surrey, North Delta, Langley.
Free bike maintenance at celebration stations
Who doesn’t want free bike maintenance and snacks? Drop by celebration stations across Metro Vancouver. In this map, celebration stations are marked as the red house icons. Find one along your route! Note that dates vary per location.

June 3: Guildford Way Celebration Station
- 🕓 Time: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Design your own Go by Bike Week adventure — one where you enjoy all the perks of the week — by looking at this map and making connections between the nearest celebration station and places that offer freebies or discounts.

Here are some do-it-yourself (DIY) adventures to start with.
Lonsdale Quay ride: bike on a bridge + celebration station + brewery + SeaBus ride
Set your map to head to Lonsdale Quay. If you’re coming from outside North Vancouver, you’ll either cross the Lions Gate Bridge or the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge.
There’s a free 10-minute bike maintenance at a Lonsdale Quay celebration station on Tuesday, June 3 from 4-6 p.m. When you’re ready for a break, head to Beere Brewing Company, about a five-minute bike ride from the quay, where you can receive 10% off their menu when you show your Compass Card.*
On your way home, if you live outside North Vancouver, add that SeaBus adventure. Up to six bikes are allowed per sailing onboard the SeaBus. Note that cyclists need to board from the rear doors.
Friends trip in downtown Vancouver: rent a Mobi bike, ride to Stanley Park, then bike to Vancouver Mysteries for an outdoor escape game
Use a Mobi by Rogers bike and ride around downtown. Stanley Park is always a nice, relaxing ride!
