The 19 Kingsway bus running between Stanley Park to Metrotown is one of the region’s busiest routes, serving more than 4 million trips each year. Starting Feb. 2, we’ll be adjusting bus stop locations along the route to make trips quicker and reduce delays for thousands of transit riders who board the 19 every day.

These changes come as part of the Route 19 Bus Priority Project, which included a three-week engagement period capturing feedback from hundreds of people. Thank you to everyone who completed our survey, sent us emails, or attended our events. Your feedback helped us adjust the final plan to better reflect how the route is used today.

What’s changing

Based on extensive technical analysis and public feedback, we’re removing or adjusting twelve stops and adding three new stops near intersections with crosswalks and traffic lights to support safety, accessibility, and convenience.

With these changes, more than 90 per cent of riders will continue to have access to their existing stops. If you happen to experience a bus stop change on this route, you’ll find another stop available around a block away.

What we heard

In October 2025, we embarked on a two-week engagement process to gather feedback on our proposed plan. You told us about the importance of continued service at certain stops, pointing out accessibility, safety, and community concerns.

We carefully reviewed every comment and made adjustments to the plan where possible. When deciding which stops to keep, remove, or relocate, there are several factors we consider in addition to public feedback. We review the distances between stops, how easy it is to access when walking or rolling, nearby crosswalks, major destinations, transfer points, the number of people using the stop, and how the change would support a better transit system for everyone. 

What’s next

We’re not done yet! In the coming months, we’ll be working with the City of Vancouver to extend bus lanes and bus lane hours along a significant part of the route. Details on bus lane changes will be announced later this year.
