Your transit guide to Vancouver Sun Run on April 19
The Vancouver Sun Run returns for its 42nd year on Sunday, April 19. More than 55,000 runners are expected to participate, so we’re adding SkyTrain and SeaBus service and running special West Coast Express trips.
Canada’s largest 10-km run begins at 9 a.m., starting at the intersection of Georgia and Burrard Streets and ending west of BC Place.

How to take transit to the Vancouver Sun Run
We’re adding more transit service to make your commute to and from the Sun Run easy:
- West Coast Express will provide a special Sunday service, departing Mission City Station at 7 a.m. and departing Waterfront Station at 1 p.m.
- SkyTrain service begins half an hour earlier than a usual Sunday, with first trains to Waterfront departing around 6:30 a.m. Trains are more frequent in morning and early afternoon.
- SeaBus will run every 15 minutes and start an hour earlier than a usual Sunday. The first sailing leaves Lonsdale Quay SeaBus Terminal at 7 a.m..
- These bus routes will be rerouted until 2 p.m. Find your route via Transit Alerts for more information.

Getting around by SkyTrain
Take the Expo Line to Burrard Station. From there, the start point is just steps away.
On your way home, head to Expo Line’s Stadium-Chinatown Station located near the end point.
- For Millennium Line connection, ride to Commercial–Broadway.
- For Canada Line, West Coast Express, or SeaBus, ride to Waterfront Station.
Getting around by bus
Use our Trip Planner to plan for your trip. If your itinerary includes any of the rerouted buses, allow for extra travel time.

Getting around by SeaBus
The first SeaBus trip on April 19 departs Lonsdale Quay at 7 a.m. getting you to the race bright and early.
From Waterfront Station, you have a few options to get close to the start point:
- Take the Expo Line to Burrard Station
- Take the 50 False Creek bus to Granville and Georgia
- Walk or roll to the start point (about 15 minutes)
Getting around via the West Coast Express
Attendees from Mission, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and the Tri-Cities can hop aboard the West Coast Express train to downtown Vancouver.
The train from Mission City Station departs at 7 a.m. For the return trip, catch the 1 p.m. departure at Waterfront Station.
