Set your sights to the sky this Friday, July 31, as fireworks return to English Bay for a one-night event that’s expected to draw thousands of spectators.

Whether you’re a fireworks fanatic or a first timer, skip the hassle of traffic and parking by planning your transit ahead of time.

Taking transit to Summer Lights in English Bay

TransLink is adding extra SkyTrain, SeaBus, and bus service, including special event shuttles to help you get to and from the event.

Hot tips:

  • Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.
  • The public viewing area is free but there is no reserved seating.
  • Arrive early if you want a good spot, and grab some snacks at the on-site food trucks!

Large crowds are expected, so plan ahead and explore your transit options using the Transit App.

Bus Service and Shuttle Buses

  • Pre-event shuttle buses: Burrard Station → Denman and West Georgia from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Temporary bus reroutes due to street closures:
    • Route 5: 5 p.m. to midnight
    • Route 6: 5 p.m. to midnight
    • Route 23: 11 a.m. to midnight

SkyTrain

  • Trains will run every 2–3 minutes before and after the fireworks
  • Starting at 10:30 p.m., bicycles will not be permitted on trains until after crowds have cleared

SeaBus

  • Extended service every 10 minutes from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Service every 15 minutes after 11:30 p.m.
  • Last sailing from Waterfront Station: 1:22 a.m.
