Tripsters: A fun way to learn about transit options and win at the same time!
Tripsters: A fun way to learn about transit options and win at the same time!
We’re pleased to be partnering with TransLink’s TravelSmart program and some Metro Vancouver bloggers to spread the word about a new way for young people to learn about sustainable transportation options. Tripsters (and accompanying school activities) is an interactive online game that offers a fun way for kids to learn about walking, cycling, carpooling and public transit.
The game has users choose a character (Jack or Lucy) and decide how the character gets around throughout the course of their day. Each travel decision is a chance to earn points for health, environment and saving money. However, showing is always better than telling, so play tripsters and see what it’s all about!
If you don’t have kids, you can still play. Being a big kid myself, I found it fun to try out the different options to see how I can increase my score. I’ll let you all figure out what’s a perfect score!
Three ways to win while playing Tripsters!
1. Enter the Buzzer blog contest!
We have a great prize pack for one lucky winner. Here’s what you’ll win:
- One 3-Zone FareCard
- TravelSmart hoodie
- TravelSmart water bottle
- TravelSmart coffee cup
How to Enter
Log on to your Twitter account, and tweet @thebuzzer and @travelsmart with a tweet that completes this sentence: “@thebuzzer @travelsmart my #tripsters score is…”
Examples:
- An acceptable entry: “@thebuzzer @travelsmart my #tripsters score is 280″
- This is NOT an acceptable entry: “@thebuzzer @travelsmart my #tripsters score is…”
- This is also NOT acceptable, but only because it doesn’t include the hashtag: “@thebuzzer @travelsmart my tripsters score is 160″
Rules and other answers
- One entry per person per day. Yes, you can enter up to 5 times!
- As long as your tweet starts with “@thebuzzer @travelsmart my #tripsters score is” and includes your score you are entered. Feel free to send us photos and video with your tweet if you like. We love creativity!
- We’re going to do a random draw on Friday, July 26, 2013, at noon. We’ll announce the winner on the blog and Twitter!
2. Enter The Thirties Grind contest
The fabulous The Thirties Grind blog is also running a Tripsters contest.
Here’s what you could win:
- $100 MEC gift certificate
- $50 iTunes card
- TravelSmart bike light
- TravelSmart woman’s emergency flats
3. Enter the Green Kick contest
And the equally great Green Kick blog is running a similar contest.
Here’s what you could win:

Happy gaming!
Any plans to sell those sweaters in the future? I wouldn’t mind picking up Translink merchanidse as I love taking the buses/skytrain.
Seriously, second that comment! I’d love to buy one of those hoodies.
