Pattullo Bridge weekend closure July 14 – 17

Pattullo Bridge weekend closure July 14 – 17

The Pattullo Bridge

The Pattullo Bridge is celebrating its 80 birthday this year, and as part of regular maintenance and repair work to keep the bridge operational until it’s replaced, the bridge will be closed from Friday, July 14 at 9 p.m. to Monday, July 17 at 5 a.m. This closure will allow crews to repair the south side of the bridge.

The bridge is regularly inspected to monitor the condition of the aging deck to ensure it is functional for drivers using it today. Potholes that occurred last winter have been temporarily patched and the upcoming closure is required to better repair the underlying concrete deck.

During the weekend closure, we encourage drivers to plan alternate routes to cross the Fraser River via the Alex Fraser Bridge or Port Mann Bridge. Additionally, the N19 NightBus will be re-routed via the Alex Fraser and Queensborough Bridges between New Westminster and Scott Road Stations.  Route #321, which makes two trips from Surrey to New Westminster Station on Sunday mornings before SkyTrain begins service, will end at Scott Road Station. Customers should plan on longer travel time. While the bridge deck will be closed to vehicle traffic (aside from emergency vehicles), the sidewalk will remain open for cyclists and pedestrians.

A huge THANK YOU to drivers for your patience while we continue the rehabilitation work to keep the Pattullo Bridge safe for all users.
