Friday fun poll: do you prefer a window or aisle seat on transit?
I recently came back from a trip to the United States and when you fly, often you get to choose where you sit on the plane. I always choose the aisle seat when flying. This way if I need to get up from my seat, I don’t have to awkwardly squeeze my way out.
It got me thinking about where I like to sit on transit—is it the window or aisle seat?
On shorter commutes, I prefer an aisle seat so I can easily disembark when it’s my stop. But for longer commute such as riding the 410 from 22nd Street Station to Richmond, I like the window seat so I can have an uninterrupted commute where I can doze off or look out the window to pass the time.
It’s over to you, the Buzzer blog readers, again! Do you prefer a window or aisle seat? Let us know why in the comments section.

Much prefer an aisle seat, as I like to be prepared to get up and close to the door BEFORE the bus gets there. That way I can quickly get off the bus and allow it to continue delivering passengers to their destinations. I’m always frustrated when people dawdle getting on/off transit services and slow the service down for everyone else.
Doesn’t really matter to me as long as it’s no a sideways facing seat as I can’t sideways as I end up getting motion sick from sitting sideways.
Does anyone at TransLink know that Twitter exists anymore? There hasn’t been an updated in almost two weeks.
Hey Sheba, there’s been updates posted to our Twitter account. Odd you aren’t able to see them. Let us know if there’s any way we can help.
Window seat when I’m recording (obviously), or if I’m recording the inside the Aisle seat, or preferably, the back seat. Window seat also if there’s no one sitting beside me, but aisle seat for access. I don’t really like sitting beside people though, so I often stand.
Allen: The Twitter feed goes up to ‘#MyTransLink – January 2’ and then nothing until ‘A talon for getting rid of pigeons’.
Ah gotcha! We were having issues with our RSS feed, but it’s all fixed now, hence the break in the tweets. :)
I’d prefer to stand but if I am recording videos, then it is always going to be at the front!
