Experience the 3D “MicroCity” model
Why does the region look the way it does? And what’s the history behind the shape of our communities and our streets?
Our 3D “MicroCity” model of Metro Vancouver and animated story will tell the tale! The MicroCity is made up of a 3D-printed model and a gigantic LED display that will show you how the region has evolved.
Find out how canoes, steam locomotives, streetcars, transit and automobiles changed the way we move. Learn about the key decisions that have shaped the layout of our communities. Accompanied by narration, lights, sound, and music, you’re invited to get to know the region!
Visit the historical museum bus
Board the historical, museum bus — a 1957 General Motors TDH-4512 bus, or commonly referred to as the “old look” bus. Why is it called that? You’ll want to stop by and ask one of the Transit Museum Society volunteers why!
Check out transit artifacts, memorabilia, and a timeline of transit in Metro Vancouver from 1890 to now.
Ask questions onboard the “Reconnect” bus
TransLink’s reconnecting you with the people and places you love. Learn all about the projects, services and initiatives that have been under way at TransLink over the last 18 months.
This includes the launch of the RapidBus and the Burrard Chinook SeaBus, as well as innovative partnerships such as providing bus capacity predictions to customers in the Transit app and testing copper coating on transit to kill bacteria on transit surfaces.
Tour a double-decker bus
There are 32 double-decker buses in the Metro Vancouver transit fleet, operating on the longer haul, suburban bus routes such as the 301, 351, 555, and 620. Its panoramic views from the upper deck create a unique experience for transit riders. Tour the bus at the PNE Fair and experience why it’s a favourite among our customers.
