Award-winning breakers put the moves in Art Moves on transit
For one month only, commuters won’t be the only ones doing the “1, 2 Step” on and off transit in Metro Vancouver.
This September, TransLink customers can take a break, literally, with a series of free performances by award-winning breakers Phil Wizard with Thaiyo and Eloquence at several locations across the region. Prepare to be awed while these breakers tear up the stage as part of Art Moves, TransLink’s new music and performance residency program.
Where to catch a performance
Phil Wizard with Thaiyo and Eloquence will be performing at the following transit hubs throughout September:
- Waterfront Station
- Londsdale Quay SeaBus Terminal
- Surrey Central Station
- Coquitlam Central Station
- Bridgeport Station

Who’s performing
TransLink is welcoming award-winning breakers Phil Wizard with Thaiyo and Eloquence to perform across the transit network this September.
Phil Wizard is a Vancouver-based artist who specializes in breaking. He started dancing in 2009 under the mentorship of Vancouver’s Now or Never and Soul Felons crews, and later joined the Wizards.
Born in the small town of Jeonju, South Korea, Thaiyo is a world-famous bboy now living in Vancouver. He started dancing in 1998, and in 2002 founded Last For One crew with 10 other friends from Jeonju. By age 23, Thaiyo won the International Battle of the Year (BOTY) 2005 in Germany, with Last For One, and was highlighted in the feature film “Planet B-boy” which followed the 2005 BOTY story.
Jhaymee “Eloquence” Hizon is known throughout the Lower Mainland as a hip-hop dancer, teacher, choreographer, and member of the infamous Now or Never Crew. Now or Never is one of Canada’s top hip-hop/bboy crews, and highly regarded worldwide.
