Pattullo Bridge closure during Easter long weekend

A maintenance vehicle on the deck of the Pattullo Bridge with no traffic

The Pattullo Bridge is closed to traffic in both directions during the Easter long weekend. This full closure ensures the safety of crews and bridge users while the Government of British Columbia completes work as part of the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project.

The Pattullo Bridge closure details:

  • From Thursday, April 6 at 10 p.m. to Tuesday, April 11 at 5 a.m.
  • Full Pattullo Bridge closure (i.e. both northbound and southbound directions)

How this affects bus service:

  • Affected N19 Downtown / Surrey Central Station NightBus trips are rerouted over the Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges between New Westminster and Scott Road stations.
  • Customers should plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time.

How this affects vehicles:

  • Drivers should take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternatives.
  • First responders continue to have access to the Pattullo Bridge.

How this affects pedestrians and cyclists:

  • The bridge remains open to pedestrians and cyclists throughout Easter long weekend.

What’s happening:

  • The Government of British Columbia is completing work that includes soil densification activities, paving, and relocating the seismic warning system.
    • During this time, workers will disconnect the warning system temporarily and carry out the task in the absence of traffic on the bridge, to ensure motorists’ safety.
  • TransLink’s also completing speed sign relocation, line painting, concrete patching, and inspections requiring rope access onto the overhead bridge truss.

Thank you: We thank our customers, bridge users, and neighbours for their patience during this critical work.
