Free Wi-Fi is now available on all RapidBus routes
All-day service, fast and reliable, distinct look and features, and now free Wi-Fi! Customers riding our RapidBus routes can now access free Wi-Fi, powered by Rogers. It is available to anyone with a mobile device.
RapidBus is the newest part of the transit network where customers can access free Wi-Fi. It is also available on select articulated buses, most SeaBus vessels, select SkyTrain cars, at the Lonsdale Quay and Waterfront SeaBus terminals, at Edmonds and New Westminster stations, as well as at Carvolth and Langley Centre exchanges.
Free Wi-Fi is part of our Customer Experience Action Plan to deliver transit that is faster and more reliable, easier to use, more personalized, safer and more comfortable, and helps make our communities better.
This the latest milestone in achieving TransLink and Roger Communications’ goal of having free public Wi-Fi available systemwide on transit vehicles and at transit hubs. In the short-term, we are prioritizing vehicles that carry the most passengers such as articulated buses and SkyTrain cars. These upgrades come at no expense to TransLink.
Unfortunately, P8106 is used on the R3 to Coquitlam Central today. I tried looking for the ‘TransLinkWiFi’ on my smartphone and it didn’t appear nor did my phone connect to it. I was expecting that WiFi being available on all RapidBus routes means whatever vehicle used on the RapidBus route has WiFi NOT just on RapidBus vehicles only since RapidBus vehicles are also used on non-RapidBus routes. Despite R3 supposed to have WiFi and P8106 has no WiFi, the vehicle was used on the RapidBus route without WiFi anyway. This is absolutely misleading.
Took a skytrain and Translink Wifi not working. Improvements to ensure consistency in connectivity needed.
