TransLink’s now accepting applications for the Access Transit Users’ Advisory Committee and HandyDART Users’ Advisory Committee. The application deadline is Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.

The Access Transit Users’ Advisory Committee (UAC) advises TransLink on improvements to the accessibility of conventional transit services. The committee provides accessibility-related advice on plans, programs, and other initiatives that TransLink funds.

The UAC meets approximately six times per year. Members are appointed for a three-year term with the option to reapply for a second consecutive three-year term if they wish.

The HandyDART Users’ Advisory Committee (HDUAC) was formed to allow HandyDART customers to provide input on the service. The committee allows TransLink to hear directly from customers and stakeholders to ensure that this service meets their needs.

The HDUAC provides advice and guidance on HandyDART plans, programs and other initiatives and advises TransLink on matters to improve HandyDART service for customers.

The committee is composed of a maximum of 13 members. They are HandyDART customers or have direct experience working with them, and who take a collaborative approach to improving HandyDART. The members are intended to represent a diversity of disability sectors, municipal and regional districts, age groups, genders, and cultures.

Meetings are currently being held virtually over Zoom and there may be an opportunity for hybrid meetings (with the option to attend either virtually or in-person) in the future. Committee members receive a $100 honorarium for each meeting attended.
