‘Tis the season of giving! Once again, we’re spreading holiday cheer with another successful toy drive for our community.

With Santa, Mrs. Claus, and a bus filled with merry elves, we embarked on our annual mission, hopping from bus depot to SkyTrain station across the region collecting toys for the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. And this year, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve exceeded our Toys for Tots donation drive goal once again!

Thanks to the generosity of our employees and customers, we’ve donated a record-breaking total of 4,273 toys to families who need a little help this time of year. Each toy represents a smile, ready to light up a child’s face this holiday season.

 

For 38 years now, employees from TransLink, Coast Mountain Bus Company, BC Rapid Transit Company, West Coast Express, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, SeaBus, HandyDART, and beyond have joined forces to make this annual donation drive a tremendous success.

This heartwarming tradition began in 1985, initiated by a group of bus operators at the Surrey Transit Centre bus depot. Over the years, this program has grown and flourished, continually brightening the holidays for families across our communities. To date, Toys for Tots has amassed a grand total of more than 97,000 toys!

Contributing to this cause is our way of bringing joy to children who may not have otherwise received gifts during the holiday season, and we are deeply honoured to be part of this annual effort.

A heartfelt thank you extends to every individual who participated in this year’s donation drive. Your kindness and generosity will make an incredible difference in the lives of countless children and families.
