The entrance to Oakridge–41st Avenue Station is set for a facelift and the station’s also getting new escalators!
More than 7,000 customers currently use Oakridge–41st Avenue Station daily. That number is expected to grow in the coming years as density in the area increases with Oakridge Park‘s completion.
That’s why we need to upgrade Oakridge–41st Avenue Station.
Construction is underway and expected to last about a year. During this time, there are temporary changes to station access, including elevator closures.
Once the upgrades are complete at the station, there will also be:
- Two new escalators to improve customer accessibility at the station.
- A new street-level station entrance canopy for better weather protection.
- Direct underground mall access from the station for more efficient travel.
- New public art inside the station.
We’re completing these upgrades in collaboration with QuadReal, Westbank, and the City of Vancouver.
Oakridge Park is a five-million-square-foot redevelopment of the former Oakridge Centre mall, located at the corner of W 41st Avenue and Cambie Street.
The development includes a nine-acre park, a new community centre, multiple residential buildings, and new retail space totalling over one million square feet that includes a 75,000-square-foot food hall.
QuadReal and Westbank, Oakridge Park’s developers, are paying for most of these upgrades with funding for the new escalators coming from TransLink’s 2022 Capital Projects program.
