Carpooling is where people who have similar commutes or destinations share a ride in a single vehicle. By sharing a ride, you can save on fuel and parking costs, reduce your carbon footprint, and gain access to the high-occupancy vehicle lane like on Highway 1.

But finding a match is hard. We live in different neighbourhoods, and travel at different times to different destinations.

Download the Liftango carpooling app and create an account using a company email address that has been registered with TransLink. Match on the app and travel together at least twice per week to Carvolth Exchange, South Surrey Park and Ride, or Coquitlam Central Station!

Weekly prizes include 1-Zone Compass Tickets, as well as credit for Modo or Evo carsharing. The grand prize, awarded to the person that drives or takes the most carpool trips during the challenge, is a choice of a 1-Zone Monthly Pass or a full-day car sharing credit.

Express bus connections and destinations

Connect at Carvolth Exchange to the 555 Port Mann Express bus to Lougheed Town Centre Station where you can catch both the SkyTrain‘s Expo and Millennium Line.

You can also travel east to Abbotsford and Chilliwack from Carvolth Exchange by taking BC Transit’s 66 Fraser Valley Express bus. Destinations include Highstreet Shopping Centre in Abbotsford, Abbotsford Centre, the University of Fraser Valley, and downtown Chilliwack.

Both TransLink’s 555 bus and BC Transit’s 66 bus routes use the high-occupancy vehicle lanes on Highway 1 and have dedicated transit ramps for entering and exiting the highway, ensuring a speedy ride for you.

At South Surrey, connect to the 351 White Rock Centre/Bridgeport Station express bus, which runs seven days a week, including holidays. Destinations that can be reached on the Canada Line from Bridgeport Station include downtown Vancouver, Vancouver International Airport, Langara College, Queen Elizabeth Park, as well as malls such as Aberdeen Centre, Oakridge Park, and Richmond Centre.

You can also catch the 321 King George Boulevard bus at South Surrey to the SkyTrain at Surrey Central Station (Expo Line) or White Rock Centre.

At Coquitlam Central Station, riders can connect to the SkyTrain‘s Millennium Line.
