Spring Service Changes start April 21
Spring Service Changes start April 21

Spring is finally here and with it, service changes starting on April 21.
These changes address overcrowding on different routes around the region, bring back seasonal service to outdoor destinations, and introduce larger buses on two routes.
Seasonal service to popular summer destinations
We’re bringing back seasonal service on 12 routes. This means improved access to popular recreational areas like Stanley Park, White Pine Beach, and Buntzen Lake during the summer months.
More service on select routes
We’ve added more service on 35 bus routes to address overcrowding and improve customer convenience.
Nearly half of the routes receiving service increases are located south of the Fraser River, one of the region’s fastest growing areas for transit ridership.
Four routes in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows are receiving more service. Among them is new Sunday and holiday service on the 719 Fraserway/Meadowtown and 722 Bonson/Meadowtown, benefitting q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie First Nation).
We’re also launching earlier weekday morning service to the North Shore on the 240 Lynn Valley/Downtown to better serve workers. The route now starts northbound to Lynn Valley earlier on weekdays, with the first trip at 5:15 a.m. This change improves transit connections for roughly 3,500 employees at Seaspan’s North Vancouver facility.
Larger buses
We’re giving the 23 Beach/Main Street–Science World Station an upgrade! We’re switching from community shuttle buses to 40-foot buses, increasing capacity by 50 per cent. This reduces the possibility of pass ups for customers, which is when a bus skips a stop because there’s no space left for customers to board.
This popular route in Vancouver’s West End had pass-ups on almost 20 per cent of all trips in 2024 — the most of any bus route.
We’re also introducing double-decker buses on the 601 Bridgeport Station/South Delta/Boundary Bay during weekends and holidays.
