TransLink trading cards are here — can you collect them all?
TransLink trading cards are here — can you collect them all?
Calling all transit superfans and collectors, this one’s for you! We’ve released our first set of collectible trading cards, and they’re packed with transit pride, nostalgia, and a healthy dose of competition.
What’s in the set?
- Card No. 1: Mark V SkyTrain
- Card No. 2: Mark I SkyTrain
- Card No. 3: Burrard Chinook SeaBus
- Card No. 4: West Coast Express locomotive 907
- Card No. 5: Nova LFS CNG bus
Designed in-house, the cards are a nostalgic nod to classic trading card culture — think Pokémon meets transit icons.
How do I pick up a TransLink trading card?
We helped people get a jump start on their collection with the release of 800 starter packs containing three random cards each on Friday, Aug. 8 at the TransLink Customer Service Centre inside Waterfront Station.
You’ll be able to pick up your next card (or very first!) at community events such as the PNE Fair and Car Free Days for the rest of the summer.
Follow @TransLink on Instagram or check translink.ca/tradingcards periodically where we’ll tell you details on your next chance to pick up a card.
Collect. Connect. Trade.
Completing your set will take a bit of luck, and maybe a few trades with your fellow transit fans.
With just 15 Mark I SkyTrain cards and 100 West Coast Express cards out there on launch day, it’s anyone’s guess who will collect them all first!

Please note: Trading cards are for fun and not valid for fare payment. Keep using your Compass Card or contactless payment to ride.
The best marketing of all time I think. No luck on the mark I but I can keep hoping next time
Yes that’s nice and all but please don’t stop making papermodels
If you’re doing more of these, I’ll put in a vote for BC Parkway please!
I want to know how much this entire project ran translink financially from start to finish , just to hand out some free paper. It’s long known translink CEO’s have taken huge bonuses at the cost of tax payers in British Columbia.
We just had a 4% fare increase as of July 1, 2025 and this is what fare increase is spend on giving away cards for free.
What is the cost just to print one colour card?
June of this year Translink can out with its own beer can (collaborated with a local craft beer company in Port Coquitlam).
What the cost just for production of one beer can?
Translink Beer can are sold at BC liquor for $18+tax.
What percentage does Translink get back from BC liquor for sales of each four pack?
Trankslink should be audited.
I wonder what is market department yearly budget?
This is waste of taxpayer money from transit riders or not and
Trankslink employees are also paying this from there paystubs (Federal tax) and wonder if they even know it.
So your indebt up to your eyeballs. Collect another hefty property tax levy and you have the gaul to do something like this.
Are you all just a bunch of MORONS or what?
It would be great to add your themed buses as cards (Pride, Vaisakhi, First Nations) and/or add to the store as a poster or tshirt.
Agree! this is resulting in significant waste of both riders’ and taxpayers’ money. Also, TransLink is in urgent need of strong leadership, especially in IT, considering the ransomware attack it faced a few years ago.
I would be more impressed if there weren’t major deficiencies in providing efficient transit services down Canada Way to Burnaby Central Secondary School from Edmonds St.
My grandchildren rarely can get on the buses going to school as they are full. It has nog improved in the past 3 years.
Surely there is a solution.
Winnipeg has a system where transit works with the schools to provide required transit.
Thinking outside the box may be necessary in challenging situations.
I am 74 years old and can not believe it is that difficult.
Would love to hear my 2 granddaughters are able to get on the bus to get to school on time.
Where can I find the next trading cards please?
