Summer’s not over yet with still so much to see and do before the winter rain rolls in — including two more Car Free Days! Next up is Car Free Day: Main Street on Saturday, Sept. 14.
It takes over Main Street for 20 blocks, between E. 10th Ave. and and E. 30th Ave., for a free and family-friendly street festival that features live performances, local vendors, community booths, food trucks and interactive activities.
The live music performers include Lenny Pallerstein, Terminal Station, Randy Swallow Trio, Weak Knees, Blake Harvard Band, The Quixotic Neurotics, and the Sarah McLachlan School of Music.
Leave the car at home and take transit to Car Free Day: Main Street!
The best part of riding transit or bike, walking, riding and rolling to the event is you can walk from one end of the event to the other, and just head right home afterwards.

How to get there
- 🚍 Bus: There are several buses take you to Main Street, including the 3 Main, 19 Kingsway, 25 King Edward, 33 16th + 33rd Ave, and 99 B-Line buses. Find the best route for you with our Trip Planner at translink.ca/tripplanner.
- 🚇 SkyTrain + Bus: If you’re coming from the Expo Line or Millennium Line, ride the SkyTrain to Commercial–Broadway Station, then take the 99 B-Line towards UBC. Riding the Canada Line? Take it to King Edward Station, then transfer to the 25 King Edward bus towards Brentwood Town Centre Station. Get off the bus at Main Street.
- 🚲 Cycling: Ride your bike and park it for free at the bike valet, located at the corner of Main Street and E 7th Ave. You can also use Mobi by Rogers bike share.
- 🛴 Rolling: Ride a Lime e-scooter, which its current service area includes Hastings-Sunrise, Grandview-Woodland, Strathcona, Mount Pleasant, Chinatown, Downtown and West End.
