Veterans ride transit free on Remembrance Day

Bus destination sign displays Lest We Forget

Veterans and active military personnel can ride transit free on Remembrance Day, Nov. 11, by appearing in uniform or presenting their badge, military ID, or Veteran’s Service Card.

It’s one way we honour veterans and active military personnel for their service and sacrifice.

Customers who are eligible for free transit include:

  • Veterans
  • Active members of the Canadian Armed Forces
  • Police and fire personnel
  • Canadian Coast Guard personnel
  • Department of Fisheries and Oceans officers
  • BC Ambulance Service personnel

They can ride free on buses and HandyDART all day, and access SkyTrain stations and SeaBus terminals between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with fare gates open.

For non-veterans, holiday fares (1-Zone fare for travel across all zones) will be in effect.
