Pattullo Bridge to fully close for one week, starting Feb. 6
Pattullo Bridge to fully close for one week, starting Feb. 6
On Feb. 6 starting at 8 p.m., the Pattullo Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic for approximately one week. This closure is needed to allow crews to connect the new stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge (the bridge that will replace the Pattullo Bridge) to the road network on both sides of the bridge.
What to expect
- Drivers who need to cross the Fraser River are advised to reroute to the Port Mann or Alex Fraser Bridges. Be prepared and plan for an additional 30 minutes of travel time.
- The N19 NightBus is the only route that travels over the Pattullo Bridge. While the bridge is closed, we are modifying service to ensure the N19 NightBus stay on time – even if the bus has to make a longer journey.
- To give people more options on Sunday, Feb. 8, we are starting SkyTrain service on the Expo and Millennium Lines early by approximately one hour with first trains departing according to the Saturday schedule.
- For example, the first King George to Waterfront train is at 6:08 a.m.
- Remember: Customers can park their car at the Scott Road Station Park and Ride all day for $3.
- HandyDART customers travelling between New Westminster and Surrey will experience delays and are asked to reconsider booking non-essential travel until after the bridge reopens.
- If you are walking or cycling over the Pattullo, the bridge will remain open for you. Please stay on the sidewalk due to the presence of heavy machinery and construction vehicle movement.
What’s next?
We’re expecting the bridge to stay closed for up to a week. However, the exact reopening details will be shared once they are confirmed.
