Join our transit accessibility advisory committees!
We’re looking for new members to join the Access Transit Users’ Advisory Committee (UAC) and HandyDART Users’ Advisory Committee (HDUAC)!
Both committees help create a more accessible transportation network in Metro Vancouver, to ensure everyone can travel safely and comfortably.
Apply online by Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 11:59 p.m.
The application process can help determine which committee is the best fit for your skills and experience. If you wish to apply for both committees, submit a separate application for each.
Successful candidates are appointed to a three-year term.
Access Transit Users’ Advisory Committee
Access Transit Users’ Advisory Committee (UAC) advises TransLink on accessibility improvements to buses, SkyTrain, SeaBus, and West Coast Express.
Members include people with disabilities, seniors, and those who support them.
Recently, the committee has given feedback on:
- The accessible design of the new Metrotown Station washroom
- Ways to improve safety of bus stops near bike lanes for riders with sight loss
- Design plans for Bus Rapid Transit stations
HandyDART Users’ Advisory Committee
The HandyDART Users’ Advisory Committee (HDUAC) brings together HandyDART users and those who support them to advise on plans, programs, and other initiatives related to HandyDART. The committee also provides TransLink advice on ways to improve HandyDART service.
Recent plans and projects the committee has advised on include:
- The HandyDART Customer First Plan
- Ways to improve communications with customers during inclement weather
- Ways to improve customer experience, including wait times and the HandyDART taxi service
