All good things must come to an end. As planned, we bid adieu to the Seth Rogen announcements on transit at the end of October this year.
A big thank-you to our customers for making this happen and joining us on this epic adventure. Above all — thank you Seth for taking time out of your busy schedule to do this for your hometown.
Before we close this chapter of Metro Vancouver transit history for good, we’re dropping all 43 announcements that Seth recorded for us.
Many them are outtakes that we didn’t get the chance to load onto the transit system. Our editor, Robert, and Seth wrote them along with feedback and the odd great suggestion from others at TransLink. Have a listen in the player below! *Note that many of these are satirical in nature and do not reflect the views of TransLink.
The reception was exceptional and you responded in a big way. You watched our promotional video more than 2 million times (and counting!) and you made tens of thousands posts on social media about this.
Our friends at the Toronto Transit Commission also joined in on the fun with Seth voicing similar etiquette announcements with a Toronto spin. Other transit agencies asked their customers who they’d like to be a celebrity guest voice. Stay tuned — a celebrity guest voice could be coming to a station near you the next time you travel.
Business magazine Fast Company recognized it as a top ad of the week next to Burger King and Apple. There was international media coverage, including CNN, BBC, Washington Post, CBS, GQ and even the Times of Israel.
So thank you again to our customers for coming along for the ride and we’re open to doing it again! *cough*
Ryan Reynolds Detective Pikachu *cough* Ask your celebrity friends to hit us up!
