Celebrate #VanVirtualPride this year and enter a draw for a Pride-themed face covering
This year, we’ll be celebrating Vancouver Pride a little differently! The Vancouver Pride Society has re-imagined the annual event as a virtual one.
There will be an amazing line-up of events from all-ages family events to educational opportunities to dance parties, starting on Monday, July 27 through Sunday, August 2. Check out their 2020 event lineup! All will be live streamed to their Facebook, YouTube and Twitch pages. The virtual Vancouver Pride Parade begins on Sunday, August 2 at 1 p.m.
As part of our Wearing is Caring campaign, our street teams have been handing out TransLink-branded face coverings at SkyTrain stations and bus loops. Over the course of Vancouver Pride, we’ll be handing out a limited number of special, Pride-themed face coverings. We’re also have 15 that we’ll give away on our social media channels. All you have to do is enter a draw. Keep reading to find out how to enter.
We really want to help foster a culture of mask wearing in Metro Vancouver. We’re recommending customers wear a face covering or mask while on transit or waiting for transit, if they are able to do so.
Winners will pickup their face covering from a PigeonBox smart locker, which are located at Stadium–Chinatown, Commercial–Broadway and Joyce–Collingwood stations. The service, which won TransLink’s 2019 Open Call for Innovation, allows transit customers to send their parcels to a SkyTrain station for pickup.
Customers sign up on their website and provided PigeonBox address as their mailing address when making any online purchase. PigeonBox will then deliver your package to the SkyTrain station of your choice. Once the order is complete and delivered, PigeonBox will send you a unique access code for a smart locker.
Here’s how to enter
We have 15 face coverings in total to give away, spread across customers on Twitter, Instagram and The Buzzer.
To enter the draw, simply complete one or all of the following actions:
- Comment below telling us how you’ll be celebrating Vancouver Pride this year (1 entry)
- Comment on this Instagram post telling us how you will be celebrating Vancouver Pride this year (1 entry)
- Reply to our tweet on @TransLinkNews telling us how you’ll be celebrating Vancouver Pride this year (1 entry)
If you do all three actions, you’ll have three chances at a TransLink-branded, Pride-themed face covering per day!
The rules:
Check out the official terms and conditions, but here’s the lowdown:
- The draw for the TransLink-branded face coverings will open on Friday, July 24, 2020 and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Late entries will not be considered.
