TransLink has once again been named one of Canada’s greenest employers! This is the sixth time we have earned this honour.

The Canada’s Greenest Employers designation, selected by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, recognizes employers that lead the country in creating a culture of environmental awareness in their organizations.

TransLink earned this distinction as an enterprise, which includes British Columbia Rapid Transit Company (SkyTrain), Coast Mountain Bus Company, and Metro Vancouver Transit Police.

Why we’re one of the greenest employers

The editors cited TransLink’s TravelSmart program and Low Carbon Fleet Strategy as among the reasons why they selected us.

Our TravelSmart program provides people and businesses access to a wide range of tools and resources with the goal of helping Metro Vancouver businesses and individuals become more informed about their travel. Of note, we launched the Transit-Friendly Employer certification program, which recognizes leading organizations for making employee travel easy, affordable, and climate friendly.

The Low Carbon Fleet Strategy charts our transition towards a zero-emission bus fleet. It’s a key part of our Climate Action Strategy to move to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and deliver a more climate-resilient transit system by 2050.
