The Vancouver Chinatown Festival returns for its 22nd year, July 13–14 from noon to 6 p.m. each day.

What is it: It’s a free, two-day community event filled with performances, food trucks, vendors, guided tours, and more!

  • Visit the TransLink booth to learn about all the summer offers available to those with a Compass Card, the new Bus Rapid Transit lines we’re planning, and pick up a limited edition paper cutout of our Lunar New Year bus.
  • Indulge in cuisine from around the world at the food trucks.
  • Watch live performances, including cultural dances, an orchestra, a stage show by Science World, Taiko drumming, tap dancing, and regiment marching band.
  • Stop by the kids corner with the little ones for an interactive lion dance workshop, carnival games, face painting, balloon twisting, T-shirt painting, and more.
  • A children’s theatre featuring lion dance demonstrations and performances, sing-alongs, meet and greets with Marvel superheroes, magic shows, and more.
  • Play mahjong — a widely played traditional Chinese game, learn how to make lanterns using red envelopes, take a guided tour through this historic neighbourhood, and so much more!

If you go: The Vancouver Chinatown Festival takes place on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14. Each day, between noon and 6 p.m. at Keefer and Columbia Street.

How to get there: Take transit, walk, or roll as there’s limited parking.
