Visit the TransLink exhibit at the PNE Fair, Aug. 17 to Sept. 2
We’re back at the PNE Fair and we’re so excited to invite you to stop by! Our TransLink exhibit at the PNE Fair is located just inside the red gate at the corner of Hastings and Renfrew Street.
Here’s what you can see and do!
Tour our buses
The PNE Fair is your chance to board our double-decker bus outside of its natural habitat!
Experience firsthand why it’s a fan favourite with its panoramic views from the upper deck. We are one of only a handful of transit systems in Canada and the United States that operate double-decker buses.
Remember to visit our “Take transit to” outreach bus. Learn about bus rapid transit, transit etiquette, careers in transit, tips for travelling on transit, cycling options, and more!
Learn how you can unlock special offers and discounts to your favourite summer spots with your Compass Card — including the PNE Fair. On 2-for-1 Fair Fridays, the first 5,000 people to show their Compass Card or proof of transit fare receive 2-for-1 admission to the PNE Fair, so get there early!
Take the car-free pledge!
Want a chance to win tickets to the Summer Night Concerts? Take the car-free pledge and you’ll have the chance to enter to win tickets to the Summer Night Concerts for that evening at the PNE Fair. Choosing transit or active transportation is one the easiest actions you can take to reduce your carbon footprint.
The concerts feature some of music history’s biggest names in pop, rock, and R&B, as well as emerging artists who are on the rise!
This year’s performers include Burton Cummings with Colin James, Amanda Marshall with Serena Ryder, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Brad Paisley, The Commodores and The Pointer Sisters, Flo Rida, Blue Rodeo, Ludacris, Punjabi Virsa Night, and the Barenaked Ladies.
Transit through Metro Vancouver’s transit history and more!
Board the historical, museum bus — a 1957 General Motors TDH-4512 bus, or commonly referred to as the “old look” bus. Why is it called that? You’ll want to stop by and ask one of the Transit Museum Society volunteers why! Check out transit artifacts, memorabilia, and a timeline of transit in Metro Vancouver from 1890 to now.
You can also relax at our showcase and play transit-themed games! Take your best shot at cornhole and bean-bag toss.
With back to school on the horizon, learn tips about safety and security when riding on transit from a Transit Security officer. Kids can even sit inside a Transit Security patrol car for a photo.
During opening weekend, Aug. 17 and 18, Metro Vancouver Transit Police‘s community engagement team and volunteers with their Waterfront Community Policing Centre will also at the PNE Fair with other first responders.
