Main Street–Science World Bike Parkade temporarily closing for essential repairs

Main Street–Science World Station to close on May 25, 2026 for repairs

The Main Street-Science World Station Bike Parkade will be closed from May 25 to June 12 as we complete essential repairs to improve security.

Opened in May 2014, this parkade is one of our oldest – and busiest – bike parking facilities. During the closure, we will be completing essential repairs, including replacing parkade doors with single doors made of galvanized steel and heavy-duty hardware. These new doors are more secure and will help prevent break-ins.

Repairs will also be made to Bike Parkades at the Joyce, Commercial-Broadway and King George Stations in the coming months.

Where to park my bike during the Bike Parkade closure?

Alternate bike parking options near transit include:

Bike Parkades at other stations

Bike Lockers

These are assigned lockers with limited availability, and can be rented on a monthly basis. For first-time access to Bike Lockers and information about availability, email bikelockers@translink.ca or visit us at TransLink Customer Service at Waterfront Station

Bike Racks

Free outdoor bike racks are available outside all SkyTrain and West Coast Express stations, and at most bus exchanges. Storage at these publicly-accessible racks is at your own risk.

What happens to bikes left behind?

While the Bike Parkade is closed, any bikes left behind will be removed. Make sure to collect your bike before the parkade’s scheduled closing date.

Any bikes that are left behind will be made available at the Lost Property Office at Stadium–Chinatown Station where they can be retrieved up to 30 days from the collection date.

Customers must provide identifying information to collect their bike.

After 30 days, unclaimed bikes will be donated or auctioned.

Thank you for your patience while we complete this much-needed repair and maintenance work.
