We’re ramping up transit service for a busy summer in Metro Vancouver
TransLink is boosting service this summer to make it faster and easier to visit this season’s hottest destinations.
As the days get hotter and longer, more tourists will be visiting the region – including an estimated 1.4 million cruise passengers and visitors arriving from across the globe for FIFA World Cup 2026™ Vancouver.
Transit will be the convenient choice for many. With seasonal service changes in effect starting Monday, June 8, you can think less about your commute and more about your destination.
Improved service to popular outdoor spots
We’re improving service on 17 bus routes for convenient access to popular outdoor destinations like Stanley Park, Spanish Banks, Deep Cove, and White Pine Beach.
Highlights include:
- Two new summer routes, providing access to Campbell Valley Regional Park and Golden Ears Provincial Park:
- 566 Langley Centre / Campbell Valley
- 736 Haney Place / Golden Ears
- The return of the 900 Bike Bus, a bus outfitted to accommodate up to 10 bikes. It runs between Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and Bridgeport Station on Fridays, weekends, and holidays with hourly departures to align with ferry sailings.

- Extending all weekend and holiday trips on the 181 Moody Centre / Ioco route all the way to Belcarra. Trips to Belcarra will display “181 Belcarra” while trips that serve Anmore will display “181 Belcarra via Anmore”.
This boost in service is thanks to the 2025 Investment Plan, delivering the largest bus expansion since 2018. We’ve now rolled out over 40 per cent of the bus service expansion funded through the plan, with more improvements coming this year.
Extra service for FIFA World Cup 2026™ Vancouver
We’re also boosting service to BC Place Vancouver and FIFA Fan Festival™ Vancouver throughout the tournament. Visit translink.ca/worldcupvan to plan your trip.

Supplemental bus service in downtown
We’re introducing the 1 Downtown South Circulator as a temporary bus route running daily from 10 a.m. until midnight between June 8 and July 12. The route will help ease crowding in the busiest parts of downtown, where higher-than-usual volumes are expected.
It will help connect riders quickly to transit hubs, hotels, and popular attractions like David Lam Park.

To further help move people around the downtown core, we’re also adding supplemental service (in addition to the seasonal summer increase) to 19 Stanley Park / Metrotown and 23 English Bay / Main Street Station.
💡 Route 23 will be detoured throughout the tournament. Learn more at translink.ca/servicechanges.
