Here at TransLink, we celebrate diversity and understand the importance of this special time for many of the communities we serve.

For the first time, we’ve wrapped a bus in vibrant art to celebrate Vaisakhi! It is one of the holiest days in the Sikh calendar as it marks the formation of the Order of the Khalsa more than 300 years ago. Vaisakhi’s also celebrated by people of Indian descent as a festival of harvest and renewal, as well as a time to meet friends and family.

You’ll find this art-wrapped bus at this month’s Vaisakhi parades in Metro Vancouver, which are among the largest outside of India, on Saturday, April 15 in Vancouver and Saturday, April 22 in Surrey. Want to ride the bus? Catch it along 41st Avenue on the R4 41st Ave RapidBus route.

Select bus routes will reroute to accommodate the Vaisakhi parades. On April 15, the 3 Main / Downtown, 8 Fraser / Downtown, and 49 Metrotown Stn / Dunbar Loop / UBC routes will be rerouted for the Vancouver parade. The 323 Surrey Central Station / Newton Exchange, 324 Surrey Central Station / Newton Exchange, and 329 Surrey Central Station / Scottsdale are rerouted on April 22 for the Surrey parade. As we celebrate, attend parades, and visit family and friends, we commit to providing safe and reliable transportation throughout Metro Vancouver.

Join us in celebrating this special day in the Sikh calendar! Happy Vaisakhi!
