Richmond–Brighouse bus loop closing for a month for repairs
Some temporary changes are coming to the Richmond–Brighouse bus loop that might affect your commute.
Starting Monday, Feb. 12, the bus loop will be partially closed for just over a month to complete repairs. Because of this work, some bus stops in the area will move about one block away for a few weeks. The repairs are expected to be complete by Wednesday, March 13.
Affected Stops
The partial closure of the Richmond–Brighouse Station bus loop involves the temporary relocation of some bus stops that are usually inside the loop.
- The 406 Steveston and N10 Downtown NightBus will continue service at Bay 1.
- The 402 Two Road, 404 Four Road, 408 Ironwood, and 414 Richmond Oval will be temporarily moved from Bay 1 to stops on No. 3 Road and Cook Road.
- HandyDART buses will stop on Saba Street and No. 3 Road, at the north side of the station.
- The unloading stop at Bay 2 and HandyDART Passenger Waiting Area at Bay 7 will be closed.
We’ll work quickly to complete these essential repairs to our bus infrastructure and continue bringing safe and reliable transit to everyone.
We thank all customers who are inconvenienced for their patience.
Hopefully, this repair will improve the poor bus stop layout currently.
Exactly!! Except no, it most likely will not. Most likely won’t happen until one of TransLinks precious customers gets killed while ignoring traffic control devices by some self entitled motorist that enter the “loop” on the regular.
I think these changes are necessary with Fireboy and Watergirl
Where does the 404 Northbound stop?
There is no northbound from Brighouse on the 404. The 404 leaves Brighouse trading south.
This Bus Loop was a new project not built long ago
What a waste of the Tax Payers $’s

Wow you are an angry person who knows how to use capitals. This loop was built 14 years ago I believe, which is quite a long time transitwise, Newton exchange has had three upgrades in that time.
No. The loop was NOT built 13 years ago. It was built about 4 years ago.
