The new Capstan Station is on pace to open in 2023 to provide better service for customers in the Capstan Village area of Richmond. With upgrades well underway, the station has reached the next phase of work, resulting in minor changes to service for customers travelling to and from Richmond–Brighouse, Aberdeen, and Lansdowne stations.

What you need to know

From now, until June 5, the service between Bridgeport and Richmond–Brighouse stations will be using the same track to travel in both directions (single track) to allow for critical construction to be completed.

As a result, until April 29, you will want to include an additional seven minutes into your commute between these two station between 6:00 p.m. and midnight.

For the entire duration of this phase, weekend commuting will involve up to an additional 13 minutes from the beginning of service until 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 7:00 p.m. on Sundays. Customers travelling between all other Canada Line stations may encounter slight variations to travel times.

To reduce the impact of train service changes necessary to complete the Capstan Station project, more bus service will be added to connect the Richmond stations on the Canada Line. Buses will arrive up to every 10 minutes on weekends and every 15 minutes on weekday evenings.
